The School of Advanced Studies (SAS) of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) successfully held its Graduate Education Convergence 2026 on April 25, 2026, via Zoom, with the theme “The Infinite Peer: Convergence at the Edge of Human and Machine Intelligence.” The event brought together faculty, students, researchers, and professionals to explore the growing role of artificial intelligence in education and research.
The conference aimed to help graduate students use AI responsibly in their academic work while upholding integrity, credibility, and accountability. It also sought to build students’ confidence and skills in conducting meaningful and impactful research.
In his opening message, Dr. Herbert S. Corpuz, SAS Dean, emphasized the need for graduate education to adapt to rapid technological changes while maintaining academic excellence. This was followed by a message from Dr. Luisa B. Aquino, VP for Academics, who highlighted the challenges and opportunities that technology brings to graduate studies.
The event featured expert speakers who shared valuable insights on research and innovation. Dr. Dave Marcial discussed AI Integration in Research and Innovation, Dr. Rudolf Vecaldo spoke on Academic Integrity and Human-Centered Research in the Age of AI, and Dr. Darin Jan Tindowen shared practical guidance on Writing for Publication.
The activity concluded with participants sharing insights and reflections, expressing renewed interest and confidence in research.
