Foundation Days

The foundation week held annually every February serves to honor the school founders for their commitment and dedication to the foundation of the University of Saint Louis. It is a time to celebrate USL’s rich history and reflect upon the remarkable journey that has shaped its identity over the years.

During foundation week, Louisians get to put their best foot forward in showing off their impressive talents and abilities in sports, socio-cultural, literary, visual, and special events. Representatives are selected prior to the foundation week through each school’s departmental week.

Intra-departmental Days

A departmental week is organized for the academic units across all levels, providing students with a respite from their educational obligations and an opportunity to demonstrate their innate abilities in sports, literary, visual, and socio-cultural events.
It is also dedicated to nurturing the camaraderie and competitive spirit within departments. Through various activities and events, students are encouraged to engage with one another, creating a supportive and motivational environment that helps them grow both individually and as a collective unit.

Field Trips

Educational trips are organized to augment students’ learning by providing a hands-on experience from the outside world. Field trips enhance our curriculum while serving to develop independence and nurture teamwork of our students.

Moreover, the challenges that they face outside help develop students’ personal and social skills while making them more aware of the world outside the walls of Saint Louis.

Recollections

The recollection is a recurring activity aimed at providing spiritual enrichment and fostering Christian Formation among Catholic students and educators at USL. Aligned with the university’s core values of Christian Living, this activity serves as a means of supporting their spiritual growth and development.

Employee’s RnR

Employees of the University of Saint Louis enjoyed five days of meaningful recollection and team-building activities during the university’s RnR held on September 19-23, 2023.

Through purposeful engagement and shared experiences, this initiative sought to enhance teamwork, recharge the spirits, and strengthen the camaraderie within the esteemed academic community as they took a short time off their busy schedules and usual routines.

The recollection, held on the first day at the Bukal ng Tipan, Taytay, Rizal, provided an opportunity for the employees to reflect on their personal and spiritual development, allowing for a renewed sense of purpose and motivation. The recollection masters, namely, Bro. Rolan Banting, Fr. Arthur Arnaiz, Sr. Angelica Cruz, and Bro. Ed Villacorte shared their insights and knowledge, facilitating a mutual experience of reflection and renewal among the employees.

Subsequently, the team-building and leisure activities held on the second and third days at Splash Island, Biñan, Laguna, and Mall of Asia, Pasay City, respectively, cultivated a sense of unity and effective teamwork within the organization. It also promoted a positive work environment and boosted the morale of the employees as they enjoyed invigorating activities and heartfelt conversations.

With a total of 414 participants, this marks the first time the university has held its RnR program outside the university premises since the pandemic. The university function was successfully conducted through the combined initiatives of the University President’s Office, Campus Ministry, Human Resources Management and Development Office, and other internal and external stakeholders.

USL continues to cultivate a thriving community that celebrates the holistic well-being and collective success of its employees.
