Three entries from the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) have qualified for the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2024 in its first year of submission. Under the culture/values category, USL’s Project Nurture ranked 20th in the world and 7th in the Philippines. Meanwhile, in the generative AI category, USL’s Project Bridge ranked 30th in the world and 9th in the Philippines. Lastly, USL’s Project Lure ranked 42nd in the world and 12th in the Philippines in the entrepreneur category.
With these rankings, USL was listed among the Global Top 300 Innovative Universities.
“This led us to a sweet victory from the submissions we made from the different innovations among the different areas of WURI. We are blessed to have been given three. On top of this, being part of the top 300 is more than enough of a blessing,” said Dr. Emmanuel James Pattaguan, Vice President for Academics.
This recognition highlights USL’s commitment to innovation and excellence in education. WURI is a multi-stakeholder effort facilitated by the Office of the Vice President for Academics, the Institutional Development and Quality Assurance Office (IDQA), and the University Research and Development Center (URDC).
WURI is an initiative that evaluates universities worldwide based on their innovation capabilities and achievements. Unlike traditional university rankings that focus primarily on research output or academic reputation, WURI emphasizes universities that have demonstrated innovative practices, policies, and approaches in various aspects of their operations. This recognition sets USL apart as a leader in educational innovation, showcasing its ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing global landscape.
