The Supreme Student Council of the University of Saint Louis successfully concluded the Louisian Leadership Convergence (LLC) 2024, bringing together student leaders to strengthen bonds, ignite passion, and develop essential leadership skills.
Day 1: A Promising Start
The convergence officially began on September 6 at the USL quadrangle, where participants gathered for the opening assembly. The event started with an invocation, followed by a morning stretch, pre-group assessments, and an orientation to prepare participants for the exciting journey ahead. Shortly after, the group traveled to Rancho Agripino, Santa Maria, Isabela, the main venue for the event.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in various team-building activities designed to foster connections and leadership growth. The evening concluded with a reflective bonfire session—a symbolic start to the school year, filled with a renewed commitment to leadership. Student leaders took the opportunity to confront their insecurities and challenges, symbolically releasing them through this shared experience. To cap off the night, a surprise fireworks display illuminated the sky, leaving participants energized for the days ahead.
Day 2: Leadership Under Pressure
The second day of LLC 2024, held on September 7, was packed with dynamic activities aimed at honing leadership skills. The morning featured a plenary session with two notable keynote speakers. The first speaker, addressing “Grace Under Pressure,” highlighted how great leaders maintain composure in stressful situations. The second speaker focused on “Forged Under Pressure: Diamond-Crafted Skills of a Leader,” emphasizing how adversity shapes resilient and capable leaders.
In the afternoon, participants competed in the Clash of Clans, an intense team-building competition featuring 12 stations designed to test leadership, communication, and collaboration. Each challenge pushed participants to work together and think strategically, fostering camaraderie and strengthening their problem-solving skills.
That evening, the event embraced the theme of Filipino folklore and legends during the Socialization Night. Participants showcased their creativity through performances, all leading up to the grand highlight—the Mr. and Ms. LLC competition. The candidates’ entrances and witty introductions were met with enthusiastic cheers from the audience, as each team passionately supported their representatives. The night concluded with a friendship pact, where participants exchanged personalized bracelets as a symbol of the bonds they had formed during the event.
Day 3: A Reflective and Celebratory Conclusion
The final day on September 8 began with the usual morning routine of stretching, breakfast, and preparation for the closing ceremonies. The highlight of the day was the President’s Forum, where current SSC President, Zach Zavier G. Singson, interviewed former SSC Presidents. The forum provided invaluable insights into the challenges and triumphs of student leadership, offering participants a deeper understanding of their roles.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony, recognizing the outstanding contributions of individuals and teams throughout the convergence. As the Louisian Leadership Convergence 2024 came to a close, attendees left with a sense of fulfillment, ready to apply their newfound skills and experiences to the future of the Louisian community.
