The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) held its 19th Capping, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremony for the Nursing students of Batch Ad Gloriam Dei Et Salutem Hominum on October 20, 2026, at the Good Shepherd Chapel.
The ceremony gathered university administrators, faculty members, and supportive parents who witnessed the students mark an important milestone in their journey toward becoming professional nurses.
The capping, pinning, and candle lighting rites hold significance in nursing education as they represent the students’ preparation for the responsibilities and expectations of the profession. These rites also serve as a reminder of the knowledge, skills, ethical conduct, and compassion that nurses must uphold in caring for individuals and communities.
For the nursing students, the occasion recognized their progress in their academic and professional preparation. It also highlighted the support of their families, instructors, and the university community in guiding them as they pursue their chosen vocation.
As future healthcare professionals, the students are called to approach their profession with dedication, integrity, and respect for human dignity. Their formation reflects the university’s commitment to developing competent and socially responsible graduates who can contribute to the well-being of society.
Through this milestone, USLT continues to support the formation of future nurses who are prepared to serve with competence, compassion, and a commitment to the care of others.
