The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) honored 70 senior Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BSPSYCH) students during the 5th Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony on September 1, 2026, at the Bishop Constant Jurgens (BCJ) Campus Audio-Visual Room.
Carrying the batch name “Psydhaya,” the ceremony carries the theme “Rooted in Purpose, Growing in Service,” marking an important step in the students’ journey as they prepare for their internship and future careers in Psychology.
The name Psydhaya combines “Psy,” representing Psychology, and “Sidhaya,” symbolizing accomplishment, growth, and fulfillment. It demonstrates the students’ journey as they continue to develop their knowledge and skills while building a strong sense of purpose and commitment to serving others.
A highlight of the ceremony is the presentation of the nameplate and Psychology pin, which symbolizes the students’ growing identity as future Psychology professionals. This is followed by the Oath-Taking Ceremony, where the students affirm their responsibilities, ethical duties, and commitment to the profession.
The ceremony reminds Batch Psydhaya of the values behind their chosen field. Being rooted in purpose means staying true to their values and responsibilities, while growing in service means using their knowledge and skills to help others and contribute to society.
The ceremony supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by providing students with meaningful academic and professional experiences that prepare them for their future careers. It also contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by preparing future Psychology professionals who can help promote mental and emotional well-being in their communities.
