USLT kicks off foundation week in grand opening night

Louisian Diamond of Excellence! The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) kicked off its 60th Founding Anniversary festivities in the Grand Opening Night held on February 10, 2025, at the main campus open field.

The Louisian community commenced the opening with a Eucharistic Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Hirohito M. Bolo, Jr., CICM, Provincial Superior of the Province of the Philippines (RP), and graced by the CICM priests.

In his homily, Fr. Bolo reflected on the significance of turning sixty as a time for appreciation of life’s resilience and beauty. As USLT celebrates its diamond jubilee, he likened its milestone to the enduring nature of a diamond, highlighting its enduring qualities of love, strength, and resilience.

The opening program followed with great enthusiasm as Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., University President, delivered his address and officially inaugurated the foundation week. “As we commemorate the founding anniversary of our university, we give heartfelt tribute to all who have helped build the school. We honor their contributions and remember them with deep appreciation and respect,” expressed Fr. Maniwang.

USLT also unveiled its new, redesigned logo along with the recognition of the creatives behind the diamond jubilee logo and song.

The grand opening night concluded with excitement as the departments competed in the most awaited Jumpstreet Competition. Ultimately, the School of Health and Allied Sciences (SHAS) soared to the top as the champion. Following behind is the Basic Education School (BES) as the first runner-up, with the School of Education, Criminology, Arts, and Psychology (SECAP) settling for the second runner-up position.
