The Junior High School (JHS) – Basic Education School (BES) of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) held its 1st Grading Recognition Day at the James Ter Meer Gymnasium on December 10, 2024. The event celebrated the academic achievements of 201 Junior High School students, who earned recognition as white card and blue card awardees across Grades 7 to 10. Among them, 66 students received the white card, while 135 earned the blue card, highlighting their dedication to academic excellence.
The program commenced with an inspiring message from Dr. Emily T. Mabborang, Assistant Vice President for Basic Education. In her opening remarks, Dr. Mabborang highlighted the collective accomplishments of the Basic Education School, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and dedication in academic pursuits. She encouraged students to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, mentioning Confucius’ philosophy, “The greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall.”
The awarding ceremony followed, honoring students’ exemplary performance in the first grading period. The recipients of the white and blue cards were recognized for their dedication, discipline, and hard work, which contributed to their outstanding academic standing.
The event concluded with an inspiring speech from Jan Steven J. Saquing, a Grade 9 Advance Science awardee. Mr. Saquing shared his reflections on the value of perseverance and hard work, motivating his peers to strive for excellence in their educational journey.
This noteworthy occasion celebrated individual achievements and reinforced the school’s commitment to fostering academic excellence among the students.
