USLT alumni win awards in 2024 Search for Outstanding Volunteer

Louisian excellence! Two esteemed University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) alumni won respective awards in the 2024 National Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV).



The I-SAVED (Saving the Vulnerable, Education, & Their Dreams) organization, founded by Dr. John Mauro Manuel, a USLT Bachelor of Secondary Education graduate, received the National Outstanding Volunteer Award in the Organization Not-for-Profit Category. Since 2016, the non-profit group has provided educational support to more than 1,500 students in the provinces of Cagayan and Kalinga, as well as programs that benefit indigenous communities.


Dr. Manuel and fellow I-SAVED members accepted their award during the ceremony held on December 12, 2024, at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila.


In addition, ULST Architecture graduate Ar. Dominic L. Danao was recognized for being this year’s SOV regional winner and a national qualifier for the Individual-Youth Category. His community-driven initiatives have addressed educational gaps in vulnerable communities as well as helped with parish projects and numerous volunteer works. He received the award during a program held on December 5, 2024, at Cauayan City, Isabela.


Their outstanding efforts have garnered them prestigious awards, showcasing their dedication to volunteerism and commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. Their achievements not only bring honor to the university but also serve as an inspiration for the entire community. 


The Louisian community congratulates and celebrates the success of Dr. Manuel and Ar. Danao in making a positive impact on society through their exemplary service.
