The talent, wit, and creativity of the Louisian medical technology students stood out as the University of Saint Louis reigned as the overall champion in the PAMET Cagayan 5th Interschool Congress held on September 28, 2024, at the People’s Gymnasium.
USL recorded an overall tally of 19 gold points, winning in the quiz bee and variety show events. Notably, the university’s representatives, namely Reynaldo V. Bumanglag Jr. and Jade Allyza Mari Nicolas, were crowned 2024 PAMET Cagayan Ambassador and Ambassadress, respectively. They also brought home the People’s Choice Award and Best in Casual Wear, while Reynaldo also clinched the Mr. Photogenic award.
Bannering the theme “PAMET at 60: Inspiring Minds, Empowering Success, and Embracing a Transparent Future,” the congress fostered a close community of students and professionals in the medical technology field from the school participants, University of Saint Louis, Cagayan State University, St. Paul University Philippines, and International School of Asia and Pacific-Kalinga.
Reflecting on the success of the USL delegation, Louisian Medical Technology Student Organization President Vhone Tristhan R. Battung shared his insight as one of the leaders and organizers. “I learned through this experience that there is a lot that lies in the beyond. It is not just contained in the organization. But rather fostering camaraderie among schools, building connections, and strengthening students’ bonds aiming for one purpose. It is satisfying to watch my co-Louisian Medtechs take pride in their contributions. This reminds me that leadership is about allowing others to shine.”
The congress is also part of the celebration of the 52nd Medical Technology Week, which champions the vital role of medical technologists in the healthcare industry.
