Seventy (70) Louisian students, faculty, and staff volunteers recently joined the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) Orientation and Indoctrination Seminar held on September 2, 2023.
The volunteers aspire to contribute and be appointed as members of the PCGA service to partake in the organization’s functions in the promotion of safety of life and property at sea, protection of marine ecosystems, the conduct of maritime search and rescue operations, and other activities that improve maritime community relations.
Through their involvement, the volunteers seek to make meaningful contributions to the maritime domain and support the mission of the PCGA.
The PCGA is a uniformed, voluntary, non-government organization that partners with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to ensure the safety and preservation of life, property, and the environment both on land and at sea. It consists of dedicated and well-trained individuals from various sectors working together to uphold these objectives.
