Two ABM teachers from the Basic Education School, Mr. John Mosel B. Bitonio and Mr. Ian Paolo E. Melad, together with SABH instructors Dr. Fe Rose-Anne B. Maramag, Dr. Gladys T. Tumbali, Dr. Karen Joy A. Catacutan, and Ms. Sheryl S. Bassig, participated in the 2024 Finance Educators Training Program on Capital Market Fundamentals, held on September 26-27, 2024, at St. Paul University Philippines.
The training covered essential topics such as good governance, business valuation, investment analysis, fundamental concepts of the capital market, fixed-income securities, regulation of the securities market, equities market, and risk management frameworks. Participants also had the opportunity to present case studies to apply what they had learned.
The event was organized by the FINEX Research and Development Foundation, Inc. (FINEX Foundation) and the Capital Markets Development Foundation, Inc. (CMDFI).
This training program is crucial in honing the knowledge and skills of Louisian Finance educators, equipping them with up-to-date insights into the capital market. This, in turn, will enable them to provide more comprehensive and relevant financial education to their students for a deeper understanding of investments and financial literacy, which are essential for economic growth and development in the country. Furthermore, it aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by ensuring that educators are continuously empowered with the skills necessary to deliver high-quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
