The Guidance and Counseling Center of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) recently launched the much-anticipated and the first ever I-Care Program (International-Campus Assistance & Resources for Everyone) Meet and Greet Program for International Louisian Students Program last September 5, 2025 at the Pastoral Center. This serves as a holistic support system for international Louisian students where the office provides assistance in adjustment, orientation, mental health support, and intercultural engagement.
With the university’s vision to inclusive education, there were 13 international students from China, Congo, Italy, Egypt, US, and Saudi Arabia who joined the entry activity, the Meet and Greet Activity that served as a platform to welcome international students, connect them with available services, and foster friendships across cultures. Also, it will promote an inclusive environment where students feel that they are not only guests, but valued members of the university. The event was filled with fun activities and games prepared by the Guidance and Counseling Center. Moreover, some Filipino delicacies were prepared as part of their acculturation. It was also an opportunity for them to build connections and foster cross-cultural interactions among fellow international students.
The University Guidance Center continues to prioritize the well-being of Louisian students, recognizing the role of mental health and guidance services in nurturing and promoting inclusive and supportive academic environment.
Words of appreciation were given by one of the international students from Congo. In her message, she thanked everyone for the chance to have a program solely dedicated for them. Representative from the Glocal Partnerships and Engagement Office, Mrs. Lorena C. Ventura, also highlighted the importance of such an event.
The program ended with closing remarks from Guidance Director Mrs. Haydee C. Guillermo, who commended everyone for a successful program.
