The accolades continue for the University of Saint Louis, as one of the presented papers emerged victorious at the 8th International Conference on Recent Advances and Innovations in Engineering (ICRAIE), held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on December 2, 2023.
The paper, titled “EcoCharge: Innovative Solar and Wind Charging Station Enabled by Solid Waste Contributions,” developed and implemented a waste management system utilizing solar and wind energy for charging small electronic devices, which effectively detects waste and provides free electrical charging based on the disposed waste type.
Additionally, this collective effort involves a team of researchers, including John Paulo Guiao, Mark Francis Pera, Reel Jerin Ignacio, Noel Malana, Jon Michael Magat, Norman Bob Gomez, and Ertie Abana.
The study’s recognition as the Best Paper Award signifies its exceptional contribution to the field of engineering and reinforces USL’s commitment to research and innovation.
