Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Basic Education School (BES) – JHS Unit filled the air with joy and excitement as families, teachers, and students gathered for the much-anticipated Family Day celebration on December 14, 2024, at the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao Covered Court.
The event, themed “Unity in Diversity: Celebrating Our Unique Family Ties,” highlighted the importance of family relationships, camaraderie, and diversity within Filipino families.
The program began with a vibrant performance by the Center for Culture and the Arts (CCA), followed by an inspiring welcome message from the University President, Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, PhD. “Family Day reminds us that our school is not just a place of learning but also a community where families come together to support one another,” he shared.
Families, faculty members, and students enthusiastically participated in a variety of activities, including creative competitions, talent showcases, and team-building games. Among the highlights were the Jack en Poy with a Twist, Giant Volleyball Game, and the Hula Hoop Race, which garnered loud applause from the audience and fostered unity among participants. Teachers and students also impressed the crowd with special performances, such as the incredible Christmas dance number by the CCA-BES.
One of the event’s major attractions was the Family Day Raffle Draw, where participants had the chance to win exciting prizes, including a printer, three high-quality laptops, and a Christmas Noche Buena package.
Dr. Emily T. Mabborang, Assistant Vice President for Basic Education and Principal, expressed heartfelt gratitude in her closing message, emphasizing her commitment to strengthening the bond between the school and parents.
The event concluded with a prayer led by Mrs. Irene S. Talosig, leaving participants with a sense of joy and fulfillment.
The BES Family Day not only fostered stronger relationships between families and the school but also underscored the vital role families play in shaping students’ lives.
