Louisians embark on Short-Term Study Tour Program in China

Strengthening its commitment to internationalization and global academic engagement, the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) sent students and faculty members to Yunnan Open University in Kunming, Yunnan, China, for the Short-Term Study Tour Program from June 26 to July 9, 2026.


The delegation comprises 19 Bachelor of Science in Architecture students, four Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering students, seven Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering students, 10 Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology students, 23 Bachelor of Science in Nursing students, and one Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy student. Accompanying the students are Department Heads Ar. Ma. Eleanor C. Lucero, MS Arch; Janina C. Abad, MSN; Vic Valiant O. Laureta, CPH, MS Pharm; Clarisse Althea D. Adduru, RMT; and School of Architecture, Computing, and Engineering faculty member Engr. Jonell B. Tacazon.


The program provides students with immersive academic and cultural experiences through lectures, workshops, laboratory activities, industry visits, and educational exchanges. Participants gain exposure to advancements in architecture, engineering, healthcare, medical technology, pharmacy, and artificial intelligence while engaging with professionals and faculty from Yunnan Open University.


Beyond academic enrichment, the study tour introduces students to Chinese culture and heritage through visits to historical and cultural sites and learning experiences on traditional Chinese practices. The program also strengthens collaboration between USLT and Yunnan Open University, fostering global competence and cross-cultural understanding.


The program reflects USLT’s continuing pursuit of academic excellence through international partnerships, equipping Louisians with broader perspectives that prepare them to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
