The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) recognized the outstanding achievements and contributions of its students during the 8th Gawad San Luis for Students (GSLE) held on June 21, 2026, at the James Ter Meer Gymnasium.
The annual recognition program brought together student leaders, awardees, advisers, university officials, and members of the Louisian community to celebrate excellence in academics, journalism, innovation, sports, culture and the arts, leadership, and civic engagement. The event highlighted the diverse accomplishments of students who continue to bring honor to the university through their dedication, talent, and service.
Cirilo R. Parallag Jr., JD, Dean of Student Affairs and Services, delivered the opening remarks and welcomed the attendees to the celebration. Following this, Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., University President, delivered his inspirational message during the program. Afterward, Dharyll John E. Sejalbo, Editor-in-Chief of The Louisian Courier, delivered the acceptance speech on behalf of the awardees.
Awards were conferred in several categories, namely:
- Gawad San Luis for Excellence in Academics and Excellence for Journalism
- Gawad San Luis for Innovation, Creativity, and Agility
- Gawad San Luis for Excellence in Sports
- Gawad San Luis for Excellence in Culture and Arts
- Gawad San Luis for Best School Council and Outstanding Organization
- Gawad San Luis for Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility
These categories reflected the many ways students contribute to the growth of the university and the wider community.
The program concluded with the closing remarks of Aldwin D. Tuliao, MBA, Prefect of Men, Scholarships Coordinator, and SSC Adviser.
Through the 8th Gawad San Luis for Students, USLT once again affirmed its commitment to honoring student achievement and promoting a culture of excellence, service, and leadership among Louisian students.
