USLT strengthens campus preparedness thru simultaneous Fire and Earthquake Drill

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) conducted a simultaneous Fire and Earthquake Drill across its three campuses—Main, Lecaros, and BCJ—on June 9, 2026, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring the safety and preparedness of the Louisian community.

The activity gathered employees, students, and other stakeholders in a coordinated emergency preparedness exercise designed to enhance awareness and readiness in the event of fire incidents, earthquakes, and other emergencies. Participants practiced proper evacuation procedures, assembly protocols, and emergency response measures under simulated disaster scenarios.

As part of the university’s continuing commitment to disaster risk reduction and management, the drill aimed to strengthen emergency response coordination while promoting a culture of safety and vigilance throughout the campuses.

The activity also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, which promotes resilience and disaster preparedness in communities.

Through initiatives such as this, USLT continues to uphold its responsibility of providing a safe and secure learning and working environment while fostering disaster preparedness and resilience among its stakeholders.
