The Art Appreciation classes of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao held a weeklong art exhibit at SM City Tuguegarao from May 4-8, 2026, under the theme “Seen, Shared, and Lived: Student Art in Dialogue with Culture and Society.”
Guided by the theme, the exhibit presented artworks that expressed how students experienced, interpreted, and lived through art within cultural and social contexts. The initiative encouraged students to view their work beyond academic requirements and to recognize their role in shaping conversations about culture and society.
During the opening program, Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, University President, highlighted the students’ giftedness and the value of artistic expression among young Louisians. Ms. Beth Arago also emphasized the artworks’ unique creativity and depth. Dr. Herbert S. Corpuz, Dean of the School of Education, Criminology, Arts and Psychology joined the ceremony as the three led the ribbon’s untying.
The exhibit also received support from local officials and visitors throughout the week. Councilors Tirso Mangada and Den-Den Avila, together with Vice Mayor Pastor Ross, visited the exhibit and purchased selected artworks. Honorable Mayor Maila Ting-Que likewise visited the venue and donated ₱5,000 in support of the participating students.
Over the five-day exhibit, mallgoers, art enthusiasts, and community members had the opportunity to appreciate student artworks that highlighted creativity, cultural awareness, and social reflection.
