USLT-CECA, Advancement bring graduation portraits to Grade 12 students in Kalinga

Now on its second year, the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT), through its Community Engagement and CICM Advocacies (CECA) Office and the Advancement Office, conducted the Community Graduation Portrait Project on March 12, 2026, at Allaguia National High School in Kalinga, extending the celebration of academic milestones to students in a remote adopted community.

The initiative builds on the success of its inaugural implementation held in San Antonio, Enrile, Cagayan on March 14, 2025, further strengthening the university’s commitment to inclusive outreach programs that recognize student achievement across diverse communities.

The outreach activity provided graduating students with an on-site professional photography experience which is often limited in geographically isolated areas. Students received individual and group graduation portraits, complete with editing and immediate printing, allowing them to take home tangible keepsakes that commemorate their academic journey.

Established to honor the accomplishments of learners in partner communities, the Community Graduation Portrait Project ensures that milestones are celebrated regardless of location or access to resources. The program reflects USLT’s ongoing efforts to make meaningful and inclusive community engagement more accessible.

Moreover, the project was made possible through the offices’ collaboration with an alumnus-owned photography studio, Dave Studios.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the initiative advances SDG 4: Quality Education by recognizing educational achievement, SDG 10: Reduced Inequality by promoting equitable access to graduation experiences, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaborative efforts among stakeholders.

The program also reflects CECA’s advocacy for youth empowerment, fostering confidence, pride, and motivation among students as they move forward in their academic pursuits.

Through sustained initiatives such as this, USLT continues to reinforce its role in community development, ensuring that every learner’s success is seen, valued, and celebrated.
