The University of Saint Louis – Basic Education School (USL-BES) has garnered significant commendations from the Ninth City Council of Tuguegarao, spearheaded by Hon. Bienvenido C. De Guzman II, City Vice Mayor, on September 10, 2024.
The BES Supreme Learner Government (SLG) High School units were praised for their exemplary contributions as UNESCO-affiliated bodies. BES-SLG Junior High School unit, known as “Lumina TALA” was named one of the Outstanding UNESCO Clubs for 2024 in the Education Category, reflecting its dedication to academic leadership and active community service. Meanwhile, the BES-SLG Senior High School Unit, called “The Paradigm,” was acknowledged for its remarkable work in the Social and Human Sciences Category, promoting cultural understanding and civic engagement among students.
Acknowledgments were also given to the enduring contributions of former SLG Moderator, Mr. Marvin C. Baccay, and current moderators Mr. Nestor C. Mallillin Jr. and Mr. Romnick D. Magusib.
Further reinforcing USL’s reputation for excellence, James Benedict C. Tan was celebrated for securing First Place in Column Writing – English at the National Schools Press Conference. His coaches, Ms. Kristine Ann A. Taguba and Ms. Desiree O. Callangan, were then recognized for their mentorship and contributions to this success.
These honors resonate beyond the school, highlighting USL’s commitment to nurturing leadership, academic excellence, and civic responsibility.
