A delegation from the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) visited Singapore Management University (SMU) in Singapore on May 6, 2024, for a benchmarking activity facilitated by DIWA Publishing. This activity focused on exploring and exchanging best practices in various aspects of higher education.
Ms. Roma Goodlander, an SMU representative, provided a comprehensive overview of the university. The presentation highlighted SMU’s position as a leading Asian institution, renowned for its focus on innovation and academic excellence. Their vision emphasizes nurturing graduates who are not only equipped with the necessary skills for the global workforce but also possess a strong foundation in entrepreneurship, leadership, and social responsibility.
The university also presented its commitment to digital transformation, sustainable practices, regional growth in Asia, student well-being frameworks, and sustainability initiatives encompassing environmental conservation, social equity, and economic sustainability. Likewise, collaborative partnerships with industry stakeholders and other educational institutions were highlighted as key drivers of SMU’s regional expansion efforts.
Moreover, SMU presented its resilience framework for students, which aimed to support their holistic development and well-being amidst challenges and uncertainties. Additionally, the institution’s sustainability framework outlines its commitments to environmental conservation, social equity, and economic sustainability.
