The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) community gathered at the Good Shepherd Chapel on October 10, 2025, for the First Friday Mass, which also marked the celebration of Indigenous Peoples Month, preceded by a cultural presentation from the United Cordilleran Students Cultural Organization (UCSCO).
Employees attended the Mass wearing vibrant indigenous-inspired attire as a gesture of solidarity and support for the Project CULTURE (Cultivating Understanding, Learning, and Teaching for Unwavering Respect of Ethnicity) of the Community Engagement and CICM Advocacies (CECA). The project aims to promote cultural awareness, appreciation, and preservation of the rich traditions of the country’s indigenous communities.
In recognition of their outstanding participation, several employees were named Best in Indigenous Attire. For the Male Category, the awardees were Dr. Ray T. Obispo, faculty member of the School of Education, Criminology, Arts, and Psychology (SECAP), and Mr. Marvin S. Silva, CECA–SACE Coordinator. For the Female Category, the honorees were Ms. Aeigh Paola Marie B. Alonzo, Chief Accountant, and Ms. Marilou P. Marcial, Maintenance Staff.
Through the celebration, the USLT community not only strengthened its spiritual devotion but also deepened its commitment to cultural inclusivity and respect for diversity, embodying the Louisian spirit of faith, service, and social responsibility.
