USLT strengthens quality assurance with ISO 21001:2018 Auditors’ Training

The Strategic Management, Quality Assurance, and Accreditation (SMQAA) Office of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) spearheaded a two-day ISO 21001:2018 Auditors’ Training on February 18-19, 2025, at the Bishop Constant Jurgens (BCJ) AVR.

The training aimed to enhance participants’ proficiency in internal audits and reinforce the university’s commitment to quality assurance and compliance with global standards.

Dr. Luisa B. Aquino, Vice President for Academics, formally opened the training with her welcome remarks, emphasizing the university’s dedication to continuous improvement. This was followed by an inspiring message from Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., University President, who underscored the significance of quality management in academic institutions and the role of internal auditors in maintaining excellence.

Mr. Teodoro V. Ramirez Jr., Principal Consultant of AGF Consulting Group, an expert in ISO compliance and auditing, led the two-day training. Through lectures, case studies, and hands-on exercises, Mr. Ramirez gave participants valuable insights into best auditing practices and techniques aligned with ISO 21001:2018 standards.

The two-day session was designed to offer a comprehensive learning experience. Engaging discussions and interactive sessions allowed select Louisian participants to deepen their understanding of the audit cycle, risk assessment, and the importance of compliance in organizational success. The training concluded with an open forum where participants could clarify doubts and discuss potential challenges in real-world auditing settings.

By the end of the program, participants gained a deeper understanding of audit procedures, documentation, and reporting. More so, the training reinforced their ability to identify non-conformities and strengthened their skills in driving continuous improvement within the institution.

The ISO 21001:2018 Auditors’ Training at USLT successfully empowered participants with the competencies to uphold quality assurance and compliance. Their enhanced expertise makes them better prepared to contribute to the university’s commitment to excellence and adherence to global standards.
