Two student representatives from the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT), Val Larren B. Pamittan III (BSCpE-4) and Robin M. Raymundo (BSIT-3), together with their mentor Jay M. Ventura, Computer Engineering Department Head, achieved an impressive 2nd Place finish in the 2025 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week Vocational Skills Competition – Internet of Things (IoT) Technology Event held at Nantong Vocational University (NTVU) on November 22, 2025.
The team began their journey in the competition’s online preliminary round, where they demonstrated their knowledge and application of IoT technologies. Their strong performance secured their advancement to the final onsite round in China, where they competed against skilled participants from around the world.
This year’s competition gathered over sixty participants from various countries, each showcasing their professional expertise and exchanging learning experiences. The event also served as a platform to enhance cross-cultural understanding, strengthen friendships, and promote international educational cooperation between NTVU and USLT.
Aside from the main competition, the delegation also took part in cultural exchange activities and campus tours, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in Chinese culture and experience firsthand the academic environment of NTVU.
The outstanding performance of Pamittan, Raymundo, and Ventura marks a proud moment for USLT as the institution continues to nurture globally competitive students in technology and engineering. Their achievement stands as a testament to excellence, dedication, and the growing partnership between USLT and international educational institutions.
