USLT recognized for supporting sustainable operations of DTI Shared Service Facilities

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) received a Plaque of Recognition from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 02 – Cagayan Provincial Office for its contributions to the sustainability of Shared Service Facilities (SSFs) in Cagayan during a debriefing session and awarding ceremony on October 19, 2026, at the DTI Cagayan Provincial Office in Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City.

As part of the partnership, USLT contributed to the development of Manuals of Operation (MOOs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for SSF projects in the province. These documents serve as guides for facility cooperators in managing operations, maintaining efficiency, and preparing for potential business disruptions.

The debriefing session also provided an opportunity for DTI and USLT representatives to review the project’s accomplishments, discuss implementation experiences and challenges, and identify ways to further support SSF cooperators.

During the activity, DTI Cagayan Provincial Director Mary Ann Corpuz-Dy expressed appreciation for USLT’s contributions and emphasized the value of sustained collaboration between the government and the academe in supporting local industries and community economic growth. Mr. Ren Mark Marcelo, STIDS and SSF Focal Person, also presented the project’s accomplishments, implementation experiences, and challenges, along with proposed ways forward.

Meanwhile, University President Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for the partnership and conveyed the university’s interest in pursuing further collaboration with DTI in implementing SSF initiatives and other programs.

Additionally, Fr. Maniwang was accompanied by representatives from the university’s Community Engagement and CICM Advocacies (CECA) and School of Accountancy, Business, and Hospitality (SABH), who joined the activity as part of USLT’s collaborative engagement with DTI.

The recognition highlights USLT’s continuing commitment to sharing its expertise through partnerships that strengthen local industries, support community enterprises, and promote sustainable livelihood opportunities.

The initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by helping local enterprises sustain their operations and livelihood opportunities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration between the academe and government in advancing local economic development.
