The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao formally opened its 61st Founding Anniversary on February 9, 2026, with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration that gathered the Louisian community and valued partners in a spirit of thanksgiving and renewed commitment. The event is anchored on the theme Beyond the Diamonds: Upholding Excellence, Shaping Greater Achievements.
Presiding over the Holy Mass was Most Rev. Ricardo Baccay, D.D., Archbishop of Tuguegarao, whose presence highlighted the strong bond between the university and the local Church. He was assisted by Rev. Fr. Jake Ordillos, Parish Priest of St. Dominic De Guzman Parish; Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., University President; and Rev. Fr. John Mark Barroga, CICM, University Chaplain and Vice President for Mission and Identity.
Significantly, the Eucharistic Celebration brought together representatives from various universities, agencies, and stakeholders across the region, affirming USLT’s role as a key partner in regional development.
The presence of Dr. Hidilyn F. Diaz-Naranjo, the country’s first Olympic gold medalist, further enriched the occasion, serving as a powerful reminder of perseverance, discipline, and excellence beyond recognition.
As the kickoff event of the 61st Founding Anniversary, the Eucharistic Celebration provided a moment of unity and reflection for the entire Louisian family.
Grounded in faith and strengthened by its community, USLT enters its 61st year inspired to serve, lead, and transform lives in the years ahead.
