USLT hosts 2025 Regional Engineering and ITE Convention

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT), through its School of Architecture, Computing, and Engineering, held the 2025 Regional Engineering and ITE Convention on April 24, 2025, with the theme “Shaping the Future: Trends and Innovations in Engineering, Technology, and Architecture.” The event gathered students, educators, and professionals to explore new ideas and emerging trends in their respective fields.


Held at various venues within the university, the convention featured a plenary session at the James Ter Meer Gymnasium and parallel sessions at the BCJ AVR and Bulwagang Pasifico Casem. Students from Engineering, Architecture, and Information Technology and Engineering (ITE) programs joined for a day of learning and professional engagement.


Among the distinguished speakers were CHED Education Supervisor II Engr. Joven Jacinto and DOST Isabela Provincial Director Engr. Rosario G. Danga, who shared their thoughts on the importance of innovation and collaboration in shaping future-ready professionals.


Building on these reflections, Dr. Betchie Aguinaldo, Director of the Business Intelligence Research and Development Center and Project Leader of DOST ISU’s Smart City Technology Business Incubator, served as the plenary speaker. She discussed “The Impact of AI on Engineering, Technology, and Architecture,” emphasizing how artificial intelligence continues to transform the landscape of design and innovation.


During the parallel sessions, several experts shared practical insights and field knowledge. Ar. Abner Abadu discussed fire safety measures, Engr. Wenceslao Arao Jr. guided participants on procuring construction permits, Mr. Aries Anthony Guim from the DICT CyberSecurity Bureau spoke on cybersecurity and data privacy, and Ms. Raquel B. Santos from DOST Region 2 tackled automation and digital transformation.


The convention served as a platform for knowledge-sharing, innovation, and collaboration among future leaders in engineering, technology, and architecture.
