The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) commemorated Catholic Educators’ Day on December 8, 2025, coinciding with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, with a heartfelt tribute to its educators whose dedication continues to shape and empower the Louisian community.
The celebration began with a Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, PhD, University President, together with Rev. Fr. John Mark D. Barroga, CICM, Vice President for Mission and Identity and University Chaplain.
Following the Mass, faculty members and non-teaching personnel took part in a parade around the campus, symbolizing unity, gratitude, and the collective commitment of Louisian educators to academic excellence and character formation.
A tribute program was then held to honor all USLT educators—mentors who guide, inspire, and continue to empower young minds. Students showcased their talents through performances dedicated to their teachers, offering a meaningful expression of appreciation.
Representing the student body, Kyrus Deon C. Barroga, SSC Vice President, delivered a message of gratitude, acknowledging the invaluable role of educators in shaping students’ growth, values, and aspirations. This was followed by a response message from Ms. Jessica C. Oñate, Corporate Communications and Marketing Staff, who spoke on behalf of the educators, expressing their commitment to serving the Louisian community with passion and purpose.
As a gesture of appreciation, gifts were also distributed to all teachers, further highlighting the university’s recognition of their unwavering service.
Adding to the significance of the celebration was the sealed partnership between USLT and the Cagayan United Doctors Medical Center (CUDMC) and The Medispa, which offers special perks and benefits to all USLT employees. This collaboration highlights the university’s commitment to supporting the well-being and holistic development of its workforce.
Through this celebration, USLT reaffirmed its enduring commitment to honoring the vocation of teaching and recognizing the mission-driven work of Catholic educators in forming hearts and minds.
