USLT honored at Pappabalo 2025 for heritage research and preservation

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) was among the distinguished honorees during the Pappabalo: The 2025 Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center Stakeholders’ Recognition Night, held on December 12, 2025, at Rizal Park, Tuguegarao City.

USLT received recognition for its significant partnership with the Provincial Government of Cagayan, through the Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center, particularly in the implementation of the Pantropocene Project—an international archaeological research initiative that seeks to understand colonial-period land use and environmental interactions in the province. The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, reflecting the university’s active role in advancing heritage research and scholarly engagement.

USLT was represented during the recognition by Dr. Luisa B. Aquino, Vice President for Academics, and Dr. Marie Rose P. Mora, Vice President for Administration.

In addition to the institutional recognition, Ar. Michael T. Tabao, a USLT employee, was likewise honored for his valuable contributions, support, and engagement in initiatives that advance heritage conservation and collaborative cultural efforts in the province.

The recognition night formed part of the Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center’s continuing efforts to acknowledge stakeholders and partners whose work contributes to the preservation, promotion, and appreciation of Cagayan’s rich historical and cultural legacy. The program was led by Hon. Gen. Edgar Aglipay (Ret.), Governor of Cagayan and Chairman of the Cagayan Provincial Heritage, Culture, and Arts Council, underscoring the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening heritage partnerships with academic institutions and professionals.
