The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) welcomed its first-year college students through Freshmen Night 2025, organized by the Supreme Student Council (SSC).
The event began with the Freshmen Walk, a symbolic gesture of recognition for the new breed of Louisians as they officially start their college journey. Mr. Aldwin D. Tuliao, SSC Adviser, opened the event with a warm message for all attendees, followed by an inspirational address from University President Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, PhD.
A grand production number set the stage for the night’s competitions, which showcased the talents, energy, and creativity of the freshmen.
Notably, the program also featured contested events among the four college departments. In the Vocal Solo competition, the School of Education, Criminology, Arts, and Psychology (SECAP) emerged as champion, followed by the School of Accountancy, Business, and Hospitality (SABH) as first runner-up, and the School of Health and Allied Sciences (SHAS) as second runner-up. The Retro Dance Craze was ruled by the School of Architecture, Computing, and Engineering (SACE) as champion, with SECAP taking first runner-up and SHAS placing second runner-up. In the Freshmen Girl Group category, SECAP once again took the championship, with SHAS as first runner-up and SACE and SABH sharing the second runner-up title. For the Freshmen Boy Group, SECAP secured another championship, with SACE as first runner-up and SHAS as second runner-up. Meanwhile, in the Runway Gala, Freshie #6 of SABH won champion, Freshie #15 of SHAS placed first runner-up, and Freshie #13 of SHAS finished as second runner-up.
The evening closed with a message from SSC President Yzmael Klyde Arvin P. Borja, who encouraged the new students to treasure their friendships and experiences as they begin their life in USLT.
Significantly, the activity aimed to foster camaraderie, showcase talents, and give the freshmen a memorable start to their college journey.
