The Supreme Learner Government (SLG) of both Junior High School and Senior High School units, The BOSS (Business Optimizers Student Society), and the ABM GEMxecutives proudly represented the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) at the International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO (Y4U) 2024, held in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, from November 29 to December 1, 2024.

The Senior High School SLG was recognized as ๐˜–๐˜ถ๐˜ต๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜œ๐˜•๐˜Œ๐˜š๐˜Š๐˜– ๐˜Š๐˜ญ๐˜ถ๐˜ฃ ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ ๐˜š๐˜ฐ๐˜ค๐˜ช๐˜ข๐˜ญ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜š๐˜ค๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ, while the Junior High School SLG received the accolade of ๐˜–๐˜ถ๐˜ต๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜œ๐˜•๐˜Œ๐˜š๐˜Š๐˜– ๐˜Š๐˜ญ๐˜ถ๐˜ฃ ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ ๐˜Œ๐˜ฅ๐˜ถ๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ. These prestigious recognitions were accompanied by Certificates of Good Standing, marking both organizations as Re-Accredited Clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines for the year.

Adding to USLโ€™s achievements, The BOSS and ABM GEMxecutives, both ABM-affiliated clubs, earned their initial accreditation as Clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines. These newly accredited organizations bring USLโ€™s total number of UNACOM-accredited clubs to four, a remarkable achievement considering that only 104 out of 451 applicants passed the rigorous accreditation process this year.

The clubsโ€™ exceptional performances extended to various academic competitions during the assembly, further solidifying USLโ€™s reputation for excellence. Jonathan Mark G. Quinto (The BOSS Peace Officer) emerged as the Champion in the On-the-Spot Photography Competition (High School Category), surpassing over 40 participants. Trixie Diane C. Maza (The BOSS President) and Johanne Rinzy C. Gauani (The BOSS Auditor) secured the 1st Runner-Up spot. At the same time, Mishaela Joschet C. Delayun (SHS SLG Auditor) and Aliyah Angelica O. Callangan (SHS SLG Secretary) claimed the 2nd Runner-Up spot in the Quiz Bowl 2024 (High School Category). Meanwhile, Jamilla Chloe C. Espiritu (JHS SLG President) placed 2nd Runner-Up in the On-the-Spot Essay Writing Contest (High School Category).

Breakout sessions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) also allowed participants to learn from best practices shared by other UNESCO clubs, fostering collaboration and innovation.

John Mosel B. Bitonio, MBA, ABM Area Head, and Nestor Jr. C. Mallillin, MST, SLG Moderator, accompanied the students and served as their coaches throughout the event. Their guidance and support were instrumental in ensuring the participantsโ€™ preparedness and outstanding competition performance.

The success of USLโ€™s student organizations in this international assembly reaffirms their commitment to the ideals of UNESCO and highlights their role as catalysts for social change and sustainable development. These achievements inspire the USL community to strive for excellence in education, leadership, and global citizenship.
