USLT-BES opens SY 25-26

The Basic Education School (BES) of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) officially opened its classes for the School Year 2025-2026 with a flag ceremony and gathering held at the main campus open field on June 16, 2025.

Students, parents, faculty, and administrators attended the event, which marked the start of classes for the new school year. School officials, led by Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., University President; Dr. Luisa B. Aquino, Vice President for Academics; and Dr. Emily T. Mabborang, BES Principal, delivered the opening messages.

In her remarks, Dr. Mabborang welcomed students and parents, thanking them for choosing USLT. She pointed out the value of open communication between parents and the school in addressing students’ needs and emphasized the teachers’ role in guiding students toward academic and personal growth.

Meanwhile, Fr. Maniwang expressed his gratitude to parents for entrusting their children’s education to USLT. He urged faculty and staff to continue providing quality Catholic education aligned with the university’s mission and encouraged students to maximize their learning experiences inside and outside the classroom.

Dr. Aquino emphasized academic success and student welfare in her message. She advised students to build strong support networks, foster meaningful friendships, and regard their teachers as second parents. She also encouraged students to view the university as their second home.

The opening ceremony concluded with a reminder from Dr. Mabborang to “start right and end right” as students embark on a new academic year at USLT.

With the new academic year officially underway, USLT-BES is committed to fostering academic excellence, values formation, and holistic development as students, faculty, and parents move together to pursue shared educational goals.
