USL, SM solidifies partnership through MOA

The University of Saint Louis (USL) and SM Supermalls solidified a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement on October 14, 2024.


Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., University President, signed the MOA with SM Supermalls HR Senior Vice President Cheryll Ruth L. Agsaoay, represented by Ms. Sheila Marie D. Estabillo, Regional Operations Manager of SM Supermalls (North 2).


The partnership seeks to provide employment opportunities for USL students within SM Malls while also fostering joint initiatives to improve recruitment strategies, job placements, and enriching experiences through the SM Internship Program. 


Fr. Maniwang extended his appreciation to the partnership, which is designed to benefit both parties by creating a mutually beneficial relationship that supports the academic and professional growth of students as well as the recruitment needs of SM Supermalls.


The agreement reflects a shared commitment to advancing the professional development and career prospects of USL students and contributing to the development of a skilled and competitive workforce, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4: Quality Education and 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. By offering employment and internship opportunities to students, the collaboration ensures that young individuals gain practical experience and enhance their employability, contributing to inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
