Three pre-service teachers from the University of Saint Louis (USL), Angel Marie P. Calucag, Jerome Elijah B. Pajarillo (both BSEd-English students), and Ron Louis M. Cambri (BPEd student) are part of the international student internship exchange program at Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) in Indonesia.
Said program offers these students a unique opportunity to engage with Indonesian educational practices, broaden their perspectives, and develop a global outlook on teaching.
Furthermore, this initiative not only strengthens the partnership between USL and UNESA but also sets a significant milestone for USL’s education curriculum, as the institution continues to champion global learning experiences.
Accompanying them is Kristine Mae R. Auayang, MAEd, Teacher Education and Languages Department Head, who will also serve as a visiting lecturer and will provide academic support and facilitate knowledge exchange during the program.
Looking ahead, the internship program will run for a month, starting November 7, 2024-December 6, 2024, allowing the students to gain invaluable insights into the Indonesian education system and share their own learning with their hosts.
