USL honors CICM founding anniversary in university-wide Eucharistic mass

Missio et Excellentia! The Louisian community gathered at the USL Open Field today, November 22, 2024, to celebrate the 162nd Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (CICM) Founding Anniversary.

Rev. Fr. Hirohito Bolo Jr., CICM, Provincial Superior of the Philippines, reflected on the significance of the celebration and expressed appreciation for the journey that CICM has embarked upon. He emphasized the significance of gratitude for the progress and achievements of the congregation and encouraged everyone to continue to uphold the values and mission of the CICM.

Addressing the Louisian community on this important occasion, Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., University President, relayed several good news concerning the university. These included the noteworthy achievement of USL being ranked as the 42nd Higher Education Institution in the 2025 ASEAN Private University Ranking, as well as its recognition as a Tier 1 Institution for Engineering by the Philippine Technological Council.

Fr. Maniwang also offered his concern and support for those impacted by the recent typhoons in the city, assuring them of consideration for their current situation, especially to the students. Additionally, the university, in line with CICM values, distributed gifts to its employees, including a 2025 calendar, an umbrella, and a monetary gift as a gesture of gratitude and support.

The Eucharistic celebration was a meaningful opportunity for reflection and appreciation of the CICM’s enduring legacy in the community, inspiring everyone to continue embodying its values.
