Congratulations to Vance Marlo D. Abella and Christian F. Vino, ABM students, for being hailed as champion during the 2024 DTI Regional Consumer Cup Quiz Bee, themed “Be Smart: Assert your Consumer Rights,” on October 28, 2024, held via Zoom.
Mr. Abella, a grade 11 student, and Mr. Vino, a grade 12 student, shone as beacons of empowerment as they were also one of the student dyads representatives of the province of Cagayan Valley. The event was contested by 12 institutions in Cagayan Valley, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino. Both Mr. Abella and Mr. Vino were coached and mentored by Bonna Vhie Q. Cabana, LPT. Her relentless efforts encouraged and guided them throughout their preparation and review process.
Their victory manifests the values of informed and empowered citizens, serving as a call to action for all to champion fairness and responsibility in the marketplace. As the theme explicates, it emphasizes the importance of consumer awareness and encourages the public to actively safeguard their rights and seek remedies when those rights are contravened.
The aforementioned event is part of the broader initiative to promote consumer rights and responsibilities, foster consumer protection, and empower individuals to make informed decisions in the marketplace. As they continue their journey, their passion and commitment will inspire others to join the fight for informed consumerism.
