The university’s Department of Science and Technology (DOST) scholars, Salve Maria M. Cardenas (BSCE-4), John Paul A. Bayubay (BSCE-4), John Cedric T. Dela Cruz (BSCE-3), and Ceejay D. Gangngat (BSCE-3), exemplified outstanding representation of the university and the Cagayan Valley region during the 2nd National Patriot Scholars Congress (NPSC) held at Camp John Hay, Baguio City, on September 3-6, 2024.
Embracing the theme “United, We Lead,” the Louisian DOST scholars gained a deeper understanding of leadership and their vital role in national progress with a series of plenary talks featuring distinguished resource speakers. They also engaged in the exchange of ideas and volunteer experiences with their peers during an event dubbed “The World Cafe,” further enriching their understanding of leadership and its impact on societal advancement.
The four scholars, along with their fellow scholars from the Association of Cagayan Valley Active Young Scholars, also clinched 2nd runner-up in the NPSC Cultural Performance contest. The team presented a performance depicting the diverse culture of the country.
The congress extended a valuable platform for cultivating the future cohort of Filipino leaders dedicated to advocating for inclusivity and sustainability in the country’s progress and development.
Through the scholars’ active participation and achievements, they have embodied the principles of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in fostering quality education (SDG 4) and inspiring leadership for sustainable communities (SDG 11).
