Immersion orientation prepares students for real-world experience

On February 17, 2025, an Immersion orientation for students of Cataggaman National High School, Linao National High School, and Cagayan National High School-GAS strand was successfully conducted under the supervision of Ms. Jeremae Sagario, the Immersion Area Head of the Basic Education School. This event marked the official start of the students’ Work Immersion journey, ensuring they are well-prepared for their respective deployment areas.

The orientation was attended by Ms. Lovely Joy O. Ruiz, MST, the Assistant Principal (AP) for Academics, Mr. Bryan Nino Mallabo, an Immersion teacher, and the teachers-in-charge from the three participating schools. The presence of these key figures underscored the importance of the Immersion program in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world application.

During the orientation, the Immersion Head formally endorsed the Immersion students to the designated departments of the university based on their preferred courses. The deployment was structured as follows:

· School of Architecture, Computing, and Engineering (SACE)—for students inclined towards Architecture, Engineering, and Information Technology.

· School of Accountancy, Business, and Hospitality (SABH)—for students pursuing Accountancy, Tourism, and Hospitality.

· School of Health and Allied Sciences (SHAS)—for students with career interests in Medical Technology, Pharmacy, and Nursing.

· Basic Education School—for students aspiring to become future educators.

The orientation emphasized the DOs and DON’Ts during the Immersion period of the students. The students were reminded to maintain professionalism, adhere to the university’s policies, respect mentors and colleagues, and maximize the learning opportunities presented to them. Additionally, they were advised against misconduct, unexcused absences, and disregard for workplace ethics, ensuring their Immersion experience remains productive and beneficial.

The Immersion orientation served as a vital step in preparing students for their respective fields, equipping them with the necessary knowledge, expectations, and responsibilities before stepping into the professional environment. With the guidance of their mentors and the support of the university, these students are now ready to embark on their journey toward academic and career growth.
