College faculty members of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao gathered for a two-day program, focusing on innovative teaching strategies and instructional planning. With the theme “Innovate to Educate: Elevating Teaching Strategies and Instructional Planning for Excellence,” the event provided educators with insights on enhancing their teaching methods in the classroom.
University President Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, PhD, welcomed the faculty and emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adaptation in education. Following his message, VP for Academics Dr. Luisa B. Aquino provided updates on academic initiatives, including FLEX Friday, research time, service learning programs, master teachers, faculty evaluations, and library updates.
The first day featured presentations on innovative teaching strategies by Mrs. Maricca-Malou V. Valencia and Mr. Christian Bosch S. Taylan from the School of Education, Criminology, Arts, and Psychology (SECAP); Mr. Vic Valiant O. Laureta from the School of Health and Allied Sciences (SHAS); Mr. Hans R. Casauay from the School of Accountancy, Business, and Hospitality (SABH); and Engr. Rolando A. Bitagun, Jr., ME-CE from the School of Architecture, Computing, and Engineering (SACE).
On the second day, faculty members engaged in a syllabi workshop, ensuring that all course materials were updated. The session also included preparations for Aralinks LMS courses, enhancing digital learning space in the university.
Overall, the program, held on January 6-7, 2025, highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering innovative teaching approaches and strengthening instructional planning, equipping faculty with tools to enhance 21st-century teaching and learning experiences.
