Dance competitions captivate Day 2 of CEAP-ASCA R02 Socio-Cultural Event

Following the first day of socio-cultural competitions, the CEAP ASCA Region 02 Socio-Cultural Event shifted its focus to movement and rhythm on Day 2, as Catholic schools once again gathered at the Open Field on January 27, 2026 for a full e of dance competitions.


Solo and duo dance categories set the pace for the evening. In the Dance Solo (Tertiary) competition, Lyceum of Tuao, Inc. secured first place, followed by the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao and Saint Mary’s University. The Dance Solo (Secondary) category saw Tuguegarao Archdiocesan School System–BEU take the top spot, with Tuguegarao Archdiocesan School System–HEI placing second and the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao finishing third. Meanwhile, Lyceum of Tuao, Inc. once again emerged as champion in the Dance Duo (Tertiary) division, ahead of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao and Saint Mary’s University. For Dance Duo (Secondary), Saint Paul University Philippines claimed first place, followed by Ilagan Diocesan School System and the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao.


As the evening progressed, high-energy routines followed in the Hip-hop categories, drawing strong audience engagement. The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao led the Hip-hop (Tertiary) competition, with Saint Mary’s University as first runner-up and Saint Ferdinand College–Ilagan placing third. In the Hip-hop (Secondary) division, Saint Paul University Philippines earned the top spot, followed by the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao and Saint Mary’s University.


Towards the latter part, cultural expression was further emphasized in the contemporary and folk dance performances. Saint Mary’s University emerged as champion in Contemporary Dance (Tertiary), with the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao securing second place and Saint Joseph College of Baggao placing third. In Folk Dance (Tertiary), the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao claimed first place, followed by Our Lady of the Pillar College–Cauayan and Saint Mary’s University. The Folk Dance (Secondary) category concluded with Tuguegarao Archdiocesan School System–HEI in first place, Franciscan Apostolic School System in second, and Saint Paul University Philippines in third.


Ultimately, Day 2 reinforced the diversity and depth of artistic talent among CEAP-ASCA Region 02 institutions, highlighting dance as a powerful medium for expression, collaboration, and the celebration of shared cultural identity.
