Celebrating the Strength, Resilience, and Empowerment of Louisian Juanas

In honor of International Women’s Day and National Women’s Month, the Guidance and Counseling Center-College Unit hosted Project GANDA (Gender Awareness, Nurturance, and Development Advocacy) on March 6, 2025.

International Women’s Day is a global celebration recognizing the achievements of women and girls in all fields. It serves as a platform to acknowledge progress in gender equality while highlighting the work that remains in this advocacy.

To promote inclusivity, the office organized various activities open to students, regardless of gender.

Among these were the Eucharistic Celebration sponsorship of the Guidance Team-College Unit and the College Peer Facilitators’ Association. Afterwards, a stress-relieving and mood-boosting ZumBayanihan Para sa Kababaihan” was led by Bachelor of Physical Education-3 students and collaborated with the Center for Sports Development.

“Kape Agape” was also prepared, where attendees enjoyed free brewed coffee, iced juices, bread, and pastries.

For the “Serbisiyo para kay Juana,” free haircuts were available to students. Also, the office partnered with the University Wellness Center for free blood pressure monitoring and glucose testing.

A photo booth was also set up to capture empowering moments, encouraging students to celebrate their uniqueness and strength.

USLT stands united in striving for a gender-equal world—one free from bias and judgment. Though we are all uniquely different, together, we can build a future of inclusivity and equity.

Happy Women’s Month!
