BES organizations extend support, assistance to local communities

Various organizations from the university’s Basic Education School (BES) recently extended support and assistance to several local communities.

On March 21, 2025, BES-Supreme Learner Government (SLG) empowered young learners in Buenavista, Sta. Maria, Isabela with the launch of their Lingap sa Pangarap Program. The initiative provided material assistance and educational and faith-centered discussions to the young learners of the community.

The university also conducted an outreach program at the Regional Haven for Women and Children in Solana and San Antonio Elementary School in Enrile on March 22, 2025. The initiative, named Re-yal na Friend, covered donations of learning materials for the young learners.

With the collaboration of the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Council, Ka-TRIBO club, Community Engagement and CICM Advocacies (CECA), and the BES-SLG, the program aided in the provision of the community’s educational needs and resources.

Officers and members of the Business Optimizers and Student Society (BOSS) and Lente Likha also teamed up for a community outreach in the Agta community in Aggugaddan, Peñablanca. Through their different programs, namely Project FITIC (Fostering Inclusivity Through Integrated Care), Project ALAB (Advancing Livelihood for Agta’s Betterment), and Project ECO (Environment Conserve Operation), the Agta community was empowered with knowledge and skills to help in addressing their needs.

In addition, the Grade 7 Earth and Environmental Science and Grade 9 Araling Panlipunan students joined forces with the Young Enthusiasts of Science and Ka-TRIBO club to encourage sustainable gardening. The students distributed vegetable seeds and brochures to different households in Cataggaman Nuevo, Tuguegarao City.

The outreach initiatives of the BES students and faculty reflect the university’s continuous pursuit to sustainable living, which also aligns with the UN’s SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
