The Basic Education School (BES)-Elementary Unit of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) celebrated its Family Day on October 3, 2026, at the USLT Covered Court, with parents, teachers, and learners participating under the theme, “Faith, Family and Focus: Staying Connected Beyond the Screen.”
Organized in cooperation with the Executive Family Council (EFC), the event began with a Family Foot Parade and the teams’ entrance. EFC Vice President Dr. Lhea P. Razote led the opening prayer, followed by a Flash Mob and Zumba session performed by the elementary teachers. EFC President PMaj. Sharon C. Mallillin delivered the welcome remarks, while University President Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., delivered an inspirational message.
The celebration featured family activities that involved parents, teachers, and learners. Participants engaged in physical activities and games that encouraged interaction and cooperation among family members and the school community.
Furthermore, the event provided an opportunity for parents to participate in activities with their children within the school setting. Through the different activities, families spent time together while engaging with other members of the elementary community.
The activity supports Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by including physical activities such as Zumba and family games. It also contributed to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by providing learners with opportunities to develop teamwork, cooperation, and social skills outside the classroom.
