The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) holds its 4th Coating, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremony on August 6, 2026 at the Bulwagang Teodulfo Domingo, marking a significant milestone for Bachelor of Science in Accountancy students as they prepare to embark on their internship journey.
The ceremony begins with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. John Mark D. Barroga, CICM, Vice President for Mission and Identity/ University Chaplain, setting a reflective and faith-filled tone for the occasion. The program also includes the presentation of the internship candidates and the opening message of Rizza V. Ramos, DHM, Dean of the School of Accountancy, Business, and Hospitality.
At the heart of the ceremony are the Coating, Pinning, and Candle Lighting rites, symbolizing the students’ readiness to embrace the responsibilities and ethical values expected of future accounting professionals. The program likewise includes the Oath of Internship, affirming the candidates’ commitment to uphold integrity and competence as they begin their experiential learning in the professional field.
The ceremony is further enriched by an inspirational message and the batch naming led by Luisa B. Aquino, EdD, Vice President for Academics, encouraging the interns to carry forward the university’s values as they represent USLT in their respective internship placements.
As the candidates take this important step toward professional practice, the ceremony reaffirms USLT’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by preparing competent, values-oriented, and industry-ready graduates through meaningful experiential learning and holistic formation.
