USLT equips college faculty for SY 26–27 through Academic Seminar

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) conducts its College Academic Seminar today, August 4, 2026, at the Bulwagang Teodulfo Domingo, convening faculty members in preparation for the opening of classes on August 10, 2026.


The program begins with the opening remarks of Luisa B. Aquino, Ed.D., Vice President for Academics and Research, followed by the message of Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., University President, who sets the tone for the faculty engagement.


Highlights of the program are two keynote lectures on the responsible and transformative use of artificial intelligence in higher education: “Beyond Efficiency: Humanizing AI for Inclusive Futures” by Dr. Reuben P. Velarde, Jr., Assistant for Vice President for Business Development of Emerging Products and Marketing, and “Responsible AI for Catholic Higher Education: Trusted Content, Faculty Capability, and Assessment Integrity” by Mr. Chor Meng Tan, Chair of the Board of Directors of SMF Centre for Corporate Learning.



Furthermore, the presentation of academic updates by Dr. Aquino forms part of the seminar, equipping faculty members with essential information and academic directions for the coming School Year 2026–2027.


Throughout the event, faculty members engage in sessions designed to strengthen instructional practices, foster professional growth, and align academic initiatives with the university’s strategic priorities.
