USLT-SACE students recognized at Asia Youth Summit 7 in Vietnam

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) proudly celebrates the achievements of two Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) students at the Asia Youth Summit 7, held from February 1 to 4, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.


Regine B. Sorita and Christine Dane O. Gestiada received major international recognition for their innovative and socially responsive projects.


Ms. Sorita was awarded the Most Innovative Project Award under Commission 1 – AI in Smart Economy. Her project, SMART Bridge, is a youth-led, AI-powered initiative that promotes transparency, accessibility, and accountability in public systems. The platform integrates ethical artificial intelligence with human oversight to ensure that technology strengthens governance and serves the public good.


Ms. Gestiada received the Most Impactful Project Award under Commission 5 – Human Centered AI. Her projects, Healix and Guardrails, present forward-thinking applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare. These initiatives expand access to healthcare services while safeguarding human autonomy. By embedding ethical standards and accountability mechanisms into AI systems, her projects ensure that technological advancement remains people-centered and socially responsible.


The dual recognition of Sorita and Gestiada affirms the capability of Louisian students to contribute meaningful solutions to global conversations on artificial intelligence.


Through their success at Asia Youth Summit 7, Regine and Christine bring pride to the Louisian community and exemplify the university’s mission to form innovators who use technology in the service of humanity.
