USLT holds Pre-Opening Assembly for Second Semester of SY 2025–2026

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) convened administrators, deans, and faculty members for the College Department Pre-opening of the Second Semester, School Year 2025–2026, on January 8, 2026, at the Bulwagang Teodulfo Domingo.


The activity served as a strategic gathering of academic leaders and educators from the School of Education, Criminology, Arts, and Psychology (SECAP), the School of Accountancy, Business, and Hospitality (SABH), the School of Architecture, Computing, and Engineering (SACE), and the School of Health and Allied Sciences (SHAS), in preparation for the upcoming academic term.


The program formally opened with a message from Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., who conveyed his appreciation to faculty members for their vital role in the success of the university’s graduates. He emphasized that the achievements of the graduates are a direct reflection of the educators’ dedication and hard work. Fr. Maniwang also announced the installation of interactive smartboards in college classrooms for the second semester, highlighting this project as a means to foster innovation and enhance teaching and learning. 


Dr. Luisa B. Aquino, Vice President for Academics, then presented the Policies and Guidelines on the Ethical and Responsible Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence. Her presentation outlined the academic policies governing the responsible use of artificial intelligence by faculty members and students, emphasizing the importance of ethical practice, accountability, and academic integrity. She also discussed the updated Flexible Learning Guidelines, providing clear direction on instructional delivery and academic standards for the second semester.


The afternoon session focused on faculty recognition, well-being, and institutional development. Faculty members who demonstrated outstanding performance during the first semester were formally awarded in recognition of their commitment and excellence. This was followed by a session on stress management and emotional regulation presented by Ma. Haydee C. Guillermo, MA Psych, Director of the University Guidance and Counselling Center, shared evidence-based strategies to support mental health in academic environments. 


A session on sensitivity to diversity was facilitated by Joshua S. Baniel, RPm, Senior High School Guidance Counselor, reinforcing the importance of respect, inclusivity, and cultural awareness within the university.


The program concluded with updates on the Human Resource Management and Services presented by Dr. Alicia S. Tuliao, Senior Director for Human Resource Management and Services, ensuring that faculty members remain informed of current policies and systems relevant to their professional roles. 


The College Department Pre-opening reaffirmed the university’s commitment to academic excellence, ethical practice, faculty welfare, and continuous innovation as it prepares to welcome the second semester of the 2025–2026 school year.
