USLT co-hosts Turismo: Istorya ken Pannakikadua for the 4th North Luzon Travel Expo

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT), in partnership with the Department of Tourism, co-hosted the “Turismo: Istorya ken Pannakikadua” forum on October 4, 2025, at the James Ter Meer Gymnasium as part of the 4th North Luzon Travel Expo.

The event gathered tourism professionals, educators, and community advocates for a discussion centered on sustainability, cultural preservation, and the power of tourism to transform lives and communities.

The forum opened with messages from DOT Regional Directors Richard Daenos (Region III) and Troy Alexander Miano (Region II), followed by a welcome address from Dr. Marie Rose P. Mora, USLT Vice President for Administration.

Distinguished speakers Dr. John Paolo Rivera, Senior Research Fellow at the Philippine Institute for Development Studies; Mr. Rafael Ignacio Dionisio, Co-Founder and President of Make-A-Difference (MAD) Travel; and Ms. Mikara Kaye Jubay-Dulay, Museum Researcher I and Acting Tourism Operations Officer I of the Provincial Tourism and Culture Office of Nueva Vizcaya, shared valuable perspectives on reimagining tourism through meaningful experiences, regeneration, and heritage-based development.

With over 400 participants from the academe, local government units, and tourism organizations, the event served as a dynamic platform for learning, collaboration, and advocacy toward a more inclusive and sustainable tourism industry in North Luzon.

Through partnerships like this, USLT reaffirms its mission of advancing education, cultural awareness, and community engagement.
