The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) held the groundbreaking ceremony for the USLT Condotel on October 7, 2025, at the open area adjacent to the main campus.
In his message, University President Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., shared that the four-storey condotel will have about 90 rooms, each accommodating at least two persons. “We will soon have a place where our students and employees can live peacefully and in harmony with one another,” he said. Fr. Maniwang added that the condotel will also be open to visitors and that the Advancement Office will soon announce the reservation process for students, employees, and guests on a first-come, first-served basis.
The ceremony included the blessing of the land led by Rev. Fr. John Mark D. Barroga, CICM, Vice President for Mission and Identity and University Chaplain, followed by the official groundbreaking, signing of the project plan, and ceremonial dig participated in by the university administrators, representatives from S&P Contractors, and other guests.
Cirilo R. Parallag, Jr., Dean of Student Affairs and Services, through the Vice President for Finance, expressed gratitude to all who supported the project: Fr. Maniwang for his leadership, Fr. Barroga for blessing the site, the S&P Contractors for their partnership, the USLT administrators and lot owners for their cooperation, and the former administrators, faculty, staff, students, alums, community leaders, and friends for their continuing support.
The program ended with the placing of a time capsule and a simple fellowship. The USLT Condotel project embodies the university’s commitment to creating sustainable facilities that inspire harmony, comfort, and a strong sense of community among Louisian stakeholders.
